The renewable energy transition is not only about technology and infrastructure—it is equally about people. Building a skilled workforce, fostering innovation and ensuring inclusive participation will be essential to sustaining long-term growth across the renewable energy sector.
India's clean energy expansion is creating new opportunities across manufacturing, project development, operations, maintenance, research, digital technologies and emerging sectors such as Green Hydrogen. Recognising the importance of human capital, the Government of India and its partner institutions have undertaken multiple initiatives to strengthen technical skills, knowledge sharing and workforce development across the renewable energy ecosystem.
Capacity building also remains central to India's international engagement. Through platforms such as the International Solar Alliance (ISA), India has supported training programmes, knowledge exchange and institutional strengthening initiatives that benefit partner countries across the Global South.
At the same time, increasing efforts are being made to promote diversity and inclusion within the clean energy sector. Greater participation of women, young professionals, entrepreneurs and local communities is helping create a more equitable and resilient energy ecosystem.
At BRE Summit 2026, industry leaders, academic institutions, training organisations, policymakers and development partners will explore strategies for building future-ready talent, strengthening international cooperation and ensuring that the benefits of the energy transition are shared widely across society.
