Bio
Ms. Vidya Basarkod is a senior infrastructure and engineering executive with over four decades of experience in strategy, project development and delivery, programme management, operations, P&L leadership and Global Capability Centres (GCCs). She currently serves as Managing Director of COWI India, Executive Vice President and Global Head of GCCs at COWI, and is a member of its Group Executive Leadership. Previously, she held leadership positions at Ramboll India, Jaypee Infratech, Reliance ADA Group and Mott MacDonald. Her expertise spans business strategy, organisational transformation, infrastructure development and multidisciplinary project execution across aviation, transport, urban development, buildings and municipal utilities. She has contributed to major infrastructure projects, including Noida International Airport, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Cochin international airports, Mumbai Metro Line 1, and several road, highway, township and water infrastructure projects. She holds an M.Tech in Structural Engineering from IIT Bombay and a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Gulbarga University. She has also completed executive programmes in financial management, project leadership and business leadership. She is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, UK, and the Institution of Engineers, India, and is a Certified Independent Director and Certified ESG Practitioner. She has also served on various CII and FICCI committees and regularly speaks on infrastructure, engineering, sustainability, ESG and leadership.
