Jaipur Kicks Off the National Outreach of Bharat RE Summit & Expo 2026

There are moments when an industry stops talking about potential and begins talking about scale. India’s renewable energy story appears to be entering that phase. The first regional roadshow for the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026, held in Jaipur, marked the beginning of a nationwide outreach intended to bring states, policymakers, developers, investors, manufacturers and technology partners into one conversation around the next phase of India’s energy transition. The Jaipur event was the first roadshow for BRE Summit & Expo 2026, coinciding with India crossing the 300 GW non-fossil capacity milestone.

Jaipur was an appropriate place to begin since Rajasthan is attempting to define the pace of renewable energy adoption. The state is targeting 125 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, with around 50 GW already installed, while actively seeking further investment across solar, wind, hybrid projects, storage and emerging clean-energy infrastructure.

The scale of that ambition matters because India itself is moving towards the 500 GW non-fossil capacity target by 2030. At the roadshow, MNRE Joint Secretary Rajesh Kulhari noted that India’s installed non-fossil capacity had already crossed the 300 GW milestone, placing the country at an important point between aspiration and execution. That execution will increasingly be decided at the state level.

Rajasthan brings together several of the elements that the next phase of the transition will demand: abundant renewable resources, a growing manufacturing base, project-development experience and the need for fresh capital, stronger transmission, storage and deeper industry participation.

Mr. Kulhari pointed to the wind-blade industry in Jaisalmer and the presence of module-manufacturing facilities as evidence that the opportunity is no longer confined to generation alone. Mr. Rohit Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited, used the Jaipur platform to outline the state’s roadmap for accelerating clean-energy deployment, with particular focus on wind-solar hybrid infrastructure, battery storage and green hydrogen.

This is where the Bharat RE Summit’s outreach assumes relevance. Renewable energy can no longer be discussed only through generation numbers. The ecosystem now extends into manufacturing, grid integration, battery storage, green hydrogen, financing, policy, land, technology and ease of doing business. Schemes such as PM Surya Ghar and PM-KUSUM are simultaneously widening the conversation beyond utility-scale projects, bringing households and agriculture into the transition.

The Jaipur roadshow brought these different strands closer to the states that will host the projects and to the companies that will finance, build, supply and operate them. It also created a space for governments to present their capabilities directly to developers and investors rather than allow investment conversations to remain abstract.

The roadshow also offered a glimpse of what the larger Bharat RE Summit & Expo 2026 intends to become. Scheduled from 2–5 November 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, the summit will bring together governments, industry, investors, financiers, innovators and technology partners, alongside the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen.

Jaipur is the first in a series of regional engagements that will take the conversation across major centres before the main summit.

That sequencing is important. National targets are ultimately aggregates of state action. A 500 GW national ambition will be achieved through dozens of state-specific decisions on policy, infrastructure, investment, manufacturing and execution. Rajasthan’s 125 GW target is one such decision.

Jaipur, therefore, was not simply the first stop on a roadshow calendar. Rather, it was the opening of a much larger conversation that Bharat RE Summit 2026 now intends to carry across India: from the states upward, from policy to projects, and from ambition to implementation.
