Maharashtra’s Re Story: Targets Crossed, 46,000 Solar Pumps And A Partner-state Commitment

11 October 2026

Shri Atul Moreshwar Save
Hon’ble Minister, New and Renewable Energy, Government of Maharashtra

For Maharashtra, Shri Atul Moreshwar Save's message was not about presenting a long policy inventory. It was about demonstrating delivery and committing the state to the next national platform.

He said Maharashtra had been given a renewable-energy target of 17,360 MW and had already reached 17,371 MW, crossing the milestone.

He also cited the state's broader installed renewable-energy capacity at about 33.28 GW.

Agricultural solarisation was the most visible implementation story in his remarks. Save highlighted Maharashtra's leadership in solar pumps and referred to the installation of 46,000 pumps in a single month, recognised by Guinness World Records.

His emphasis, however, quickly moved from past achievement to participation. Maharashtra, he said, would support BRESE 2026 fully and participate as a partner in the Summit.

That assurance matters because Mumbai brings the financial ecosystem, while Maharashtra brings a large base of investors, developers, industry stakeholders and clean-energy projects.

Save committed the state and its stakeholders to make a major contribution to the Summit and positioned Maharashtra as one of the important contributors to India's wider green-energy journey.

In his own framing, the state's strength under PM-KUSUM and renewable deployment should now translate into equally strong participation at BRESE 2026.

The Mumbai Roadshow therefore produced a clear commitment: Maharashtra will not merely attend the national clean-energy conversation; it intends to partner with it.

For the Summit, that means bringing together the state's project experience, industrial ecosystem and financial reach.

For Maharashtra, it is an opportunity to convert delivery on the ground into a larger investment and partnership story.

That is the proposition the state takes to Bharat Mandapam in November.
