From Ambition To Participation: Building The Platform For Bre Summit 2026

10 October 2026

Shri Prabir Kumar Dash,
Scientist-E,
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy

India has already demonstrated renewable-energy deployment at scale. Shri Prabir Kumar Dash’s presentation focused on what must come next: translating that scale into tangible investment, innovation and technology partnerships that can meet domestic as well as global demand.

Dash described BRE Summit 2026 as a platform built around three practical objectives—critical partnerships, an exhibition platform and business linkages. He placed India at roughly 290 GW of commissioned renewable capacity, third globally in solar and fourth in wind, and noted that more than 100 GW had been added in the previous two years.

He traced this acceleration to three reinforcing enablers: policy certainty, market creation and manufacturing support. These included the 500-GW national target, renewable purchase obligations and the Green Hydrogen Mission; bidding frameworks and payment-security mechanisms; PM Surya Ghar and PM-KUSUM; Green Energy Corridors; and manufacturing measures including DCR requirements, PLI support and the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.

Rajasthan was a major part of Dash’s presentation. He highlighted the state’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, which targets 125 GW by 2030—90 GW solar, 25 GW hybrid and 10 GW storage—while also addressing deployment, storage, manufacturing and green hydrogen.

Dash said Rajasthan already hosts more than 50 GW of renewable capacity, including around 44 GW of solar and more than 5 GW of wind. He also cited the state’s roughly 27% share of national solar capacity, per-capita electricity consumption above the national average, additional state support for rooftop solar, about 21 GW of solar-manufacturing capacity and Central support for roughly 1,700 circuit kilometres of Green Energy Corridor transmission infrastructure.

The point was not simply that Rajasthan has built scale, but that it can now use that base to attract the next layer of investment. For Dash, the Summit is designed to convert demonstrated Indian capability into bankable projects, international partnerships, manufacturing opportunities and commercial linkages.

BRE Summit 2026 will be held from 2–5 November at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, alongside the 9th Session of the International Solar Alliance Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen—bringing investment, technology, manufacturing and global cooperation into one connected platform.

His Jaipur message was therefore less about restating ambition and more about connecting capability to opportunity: India has shown it can deploy at scale; the next task is to turn that scale into partnerships, technology and investment that travel further.

For Rajasthan, that opportunity is especially immediate. A state already operating at more than 50 GW, with an integrated 125-GW policy target and a growing manufacturing and transmission base, can use BRE Summit 2026 not merely to showcase achievement, but to present the next investible phase of its clean-energy economy.
